🚀 Heating and Cooling Loads in Revit
Calculate Peak Loads Using the ASHRAE RTS Method
🟢 In Revit, the Heating and Cooling Loads feature was designed following the specifications of the ASHRAE Handbook of Fundamentals, using the RTS method to determine peak loads. In this lesson, you will learn how to calculate heating and cooling loads for a specific zone step by step.
📘 Step-by-Step Guide
🟢 Step 1 — Select the Zone: Select the zone you want to calculate loads for. You can learn how to add a zone in the Spaces and Zones section.
🟢 Step 2 — Apply Project Location & Open Tool: Apply the Project Location first, then click the Heating and Cooling Loads tool.
🟢 Step 3 — Specify Equipment Type: Specify your equipment type according to your application. For example, if you designed an exhaust system for a restroom, choose a CV fan.
🟢 Step 4 — Specify Application Type: Specify your application type by setting the Space Type for each space in your project.
🟢 Step 5 — Edit People Data: Edit people data and adjust values for the Space Type as needed for your project.
🟢 Step 6 — Edit Electrical Loads: Edit electrical loads for the spaces and equipment in your project.
🟢 Step 7 — Calculate: Click Calculate to run the heating and cooling loads analysis.
🟢 Step 8 — Project Loads Report: A project loads report will be created. Using the Airflow rate (cfm), you can select the specific fan for the application.
